Owner and Principal Consultant of FB Edit–Design, DAN FORREST-BANK brings the highest standards of quality, accuracy, integrity, and efficiency to every project.

A seasoned editor and book designer by trade, Dan has contributed to and managed the successful  development and production of more than 400 content-driven and desktop publishing projects. He has served a wide range of clients across industry sectors, including publishing houses, university presses, self-published authors, private businesses, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations.

Dan has a BA degree in Literary Studies and Creative Writing from Beloit College in Wisconsin. Upon graduating and marrying his college sweetheart, Dan was accepted into the nationally renowned Publishing Institute at the University of Denver, where he gained a comprehensive overview of the book publishing industry. He and his wife settled in Denver, Colorado, where they lived 20 years and raised their family of three children.

Dan worked for a stint at the world-famous Tattered Cover Book Store, one of the original great independents, before being hired as an editorial–production assistant at a successful book packager and supplier in Denver, Colorado. Dan soon joined Fulcrum Publishing, a prominent, award-winning nonfiction trade house in Golden, Colorado, as an in-house editor.

Over the course of his 10 years at Fulcrum, Dan worked in various editorial positions, eventually moving into the role of Managing Editor, overseeing the editorial, design, and project development and production of hundreds of adult and children books, educational resource books, and calendars. Following his time with Fulcrum and seeking to expand his skillset, Dan received his Associate’s Degree in Computer Graphic Design for Print from Platt College, after which he subsequently started his own desktop publishing business.

In 2012, Dan and his wife relocated their family to Knoxville, Tennessee—moving from the “newer” Rockies to the “older” Smokies—where Dan continues his desktop publishing consulting business and his wife works as associate professor in the College of Social Work at the University of Tennessee. While they miss the incredible skiing and “14er-bagging” of the Rocky Mountain West, they have come to appreciate Knoxville’s unique small-town charm and have hitched a ride on the UT Volunteer fan-wagon. GO VOLS!
